Singing of the Last Alleluia/Lenten Lamentations

Location: Morrissey Chapel

An old liturgical custom of Polish origin, the Gorzkie Zale, consisting of the singing of the “Last Alleluia” and the recitation of the Lenten Lamentations.  The name for the ritual is derived from the liturgical suppression of the singing of the Alleluia from Ash Wednesday until the Easter Vigil.  Please join us at 11:55 PM in the Chapel as we end Ordinary Time and enter into the holy discipline of Lent.
