Screening: Mothers of Bedford

The Office of Human Dignity & Life Initiatives welcomes filmmaker Jenifer McShane to Notre Dame to screen her film, “Mothers of Bedford” and offer commentary on its central themes. The documentary follows five women serving prison sentences in Bedford Hills, the maximum security women’s prison in New York. Profiling the joys and struggles of Melissa, Tanika, Mona, Rosa, and Anneathia, McShane highlights the challenges and the beauty of the mother-child relationship. The film screening will take place on Monday, April 13 at 7:00pm in the Andrews Auditorium.


Co-sponsored by the Institute for Church Life and the  Center for Social Concerns, this event is free and open to the public.
