Shakespeare at Notre Dame Presents: Much Ado About Nothing

-

Location: Washington Hall

Beatrice and Benedick are engaged in a “merry war,” proclaiming their disdain of love—and for one another—in Shakespeare’s celebrated battle of the sexes. Their delightfully witty banter carries the audience along on their journey from antagonism to mutual love with copious amounts of humor and a whole lot of negotiating! In the end, of course, it’s all “much ado about nothing.” Five actors from London’s greatest stages play all the roles in this most romantic of comedies, a perennial favorite.

Performed by the Actors From the London Stage

Actors From The London Stage is one of the oldest established touring Shakespeare theater companies in the world. Housed and workshopped in England with academic tours booked through the auspices of Shakespeare at Notre Dame, this program is truly unique. Featuring minimal props, costumes, and set, the clever staging showcases the talents of the ensemble while keeping the focus where it belongs: on Shakespeare’s words.

Performances will be held on September 17, 18, and 19, *2014, at 7:30 p.m.
