The schedule for the SYR is as follows:
2 PM: Sections begin decorating their hallways. RA’s will inform as to the parameters of what can be displayed and where. The dates will come to Morrissey to assist with the decorating. Convince your date to come; it’s a good opportunity to get to know her better and to meet some of your section-mates and their dates.
6:00 PM: A catered dinner will be served in the Main Lobby by the Manor Staff according to the following schedule (estimated):
6:00 PM – 4th floor;
6:15 PM – 3rd floor;
6:30 PM – 2nd floor;
6:45 PM – 1st floor;
Manorites (and their dates) are to use the Howard-side staircase and line-up in the 1CD hallway. Traffic will progress through the lobby and towards the Lyons-side of the building.
8:00 PM: Dates must leave the Manor.
10:00 PM: Dates may return to the Manor.
11 PM: The dance begins at the LaFortune Ballroom. PARIETALS END IN MORRISSEY (EVEN FOR THOSE NOT ATTENDING THE SYR) AT 11 PM. Dates are not permitted to return to Morrissey for the remainder of the evening.
1:45 AM: Dance ends; be a gentlemen and walk your date back to her dorm.
NOTA BENE:
Ø Dress is suit / tie /dress shoes;
Ø Dates must be registered by Sunday, November 20.
Ø Floor meetings will be held in advance of the SYR to review our behavioral expectations. The goal is safety and maximizing the ability for everyone to have a good time.
Ø If we have an incident free SYR, the Manor receives a $1,000 reimbursement for the dance from SAO. Any miscreant behavior that endangers the reimbursement will NOT be handled ‘in-house’, but automatically referred to Residence Life and Housing.
Ø In lieu of a gift for your date, our Manor tradition is to buy a toy as a contribution to the “Toys for Tots” program. Bins will be located in the main lobby of Morrissey.
